Innocent: Failed by the CCRC

The first demonstration outside the CCRC offices in Birmingham on 10th May 2024. This is a 22 minute edited version of the event.

Organised by the Jeremy Bamber Innocence Campaign following years of frustration with lack of any real progress on his application, this demonstration bought together a number of people from different cases through the decades, from the cases of Clive Freeman, Lee Bolger, Susan May, Michael Steele, Jeremy Bamber and many more.

For the past 18 months the CCRC had been receiving significant negative press, particularly off the back of the Andrew Malkinson case. But still despite stories in the Guardian, Telegraph and the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, they still refused to do any interviews and continue to remain seemingly unaccountable for their failings.

Jeremy Bamber’s case for example has been sitting on their desks for the past three years (4 years in March 2025) with the first case officer assigned admitting he did nothing for the first year.
