Welcome to the first Substack of 2025.

All the signs are pointing towards this being a good year for the case with the CCRC making a decision on referral in March - only 8 weeks away. Let’s see if they can turn round their “not fit for purpose” corporate tag line.

Whilst on the subject of ‘not fit for purpose’ it will be fun watching the tabloids do a U-turn on the ‘evil beyond belief’ Bamber when the truth starts to leak out. On that note here’s one of said ‘journalists’ recent hit pieces.

Devout right wing angry journalist Leo McKinstry, freelance writer for The ‘Liverpudlian banned’ Sun newspaper has been a long time naysayer in the Jeremy Bamber case.

He’s written about it in The Spectator and Express over the past decade or so. This summer following off the back of the New Yorker article he piped up again, this time lazily laying into the 99 year old US based publication.

The funny thing is I met Leo a few years back and he’s the nicest guy. He has this kind of baby-faced sparkle in his eyes. I guess it’s no different to these internet trolls who whenever they’re confronted turn out to be just nice regular people, but when you put a MacBook in front of them they become the most horrific people known to mankind.

If you met me however you’d think, ‘what a dick!” - but I’m lovely in type.
